Jesh De Rox Explore Contest 2007
One of my favorite photographers is having a contest. Prizes are $500 dollars off his workshops and his famous fine art textures. The idea of the contest is to look for the photo that pushes the boundaries of experimental post-processing of a photo along with the conceptual process of a photo as well.
If you don’t know anything about Jesh De Rox, this man has won many accolades at the recent WPPI convention this past march. He is definately a photographer that I admire and respect since his way of seeing is very diverse than anyone I’ve ever encountered in the arena of wedding photography and art as well. This man is truely inspirational and is helpful in pushing the boundaries and the quality of wedding photography today. Especially, since the nature of wedding photography can become very repetitive if you’re not continually trying to reinvent yourself and learn newest techniques and ideas from others.
Well actually this is what Jesh is looking for exactly:
“1) experiential imagery (ei): images that make you feel something, inviting the viewer to experience the moment.
2) connection (c): images that feature the beautiful connections between us.
3) exploratory post-processing (epp): images which use alternative post processing to affectively enhance the original photograph.”
I have a bridal photoshoot this sunday so those photos will work very well.
