Habitat For Humanity – Detroit 2007
Yet again this year I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for Carlson Marketing. I volunteered by documenting this event. This year, it was definitely a lot hotter & humid. It must be global warming. This year the habitat for humanity was just a block. They’re doing a great job rebuilding Detroit one street at a time. At least this time around there were more friendly faces that I recall from a year ago.
It’s definitely is a great opportunity to see something like this happen. It isn’t often that people with regular full-time jobs get together and build houses together. It is something one must see in their life time. It keeps a man humble and a inspired by leaders in the community that are willing to sacrifice their time for nothing in return.
Things like this make me excited to see a rebirth of Detroit. I’d love to see a new Detroit prosper and revitalize; to turn around the white-flight & urban withdrawal.
